With the opening of the Elizabeth Line, at Community Wood Recycling we are celebrating the contribution made by our network to the sustainability of the project. Between February 2011 and April 2017 our teams made 221 collections of waste wood from Crossrail sites. We rescued 265 tonnes of timber for reuse, producing an estimated carbon saving of 132 tonnes.

This partnership allowed us to sustain three jobs and support over nine volunteer positions. We are grateful that we were able to benefit local communities through our work with such a large and complex construction project.
