Brighton’s recently completed Waste House has been capturing the headlines all over the world.  This exciting project, a collaboration between Brighton University, Mears Group and City College Brighton, is made of recycled products, scrap and unused materials from construction sites including 4,000 VHS cassettes, two tons of jeans and 20,000 toothbrushes, and of course wood from the nearby Brighton and Hove Wood Recycling Project. Magazines and newspapers from Australia to Russia have featured the project, and it was recently named Building Project of the year at the 2 degrees Sustainability Champions Awards.
