RPS 250: Is it hazardous?
From 1st September 2023 wood must be treated as hazardous (unless tested) if it’s softwood from a building constructed between 1950 and 2007 and is one of the following…
If it’s hardwood or from a pre-1950 or post-2007 building it will still be classed as non-hazardous and we will collect it.
Chemically treated material such as railway sleepers, telegraph poles and creosoted wood has always been classed as hazardous and excluded from collections, and this will not change.
