Move On Wood Recycling working with Sky

Edinburgh-based Move On Wood Recycling provided a waste wood collection service for the recent Sky drama “Lockerbie: A search for truth” starring Colin Firth. This wood that would otherwise be downcycled by chipping, is now being reused by a theatre company and local events space The Pitt located at West Shore road in Granton to line several containers for their outdoor area which hosts several vendors including Choola who serve Nepalese street food.

Sara Hamiltion, sustainability coordinator on the production stated,

“Sustainability is important in our industry because there are so many people and things like props, costumes and set builds needed to create our favourite shows, but far too often, the temporary set builds are thrown into a skip once filming is complete. Move On Wood collecting the wood from these sets is not only cheaper than skip hire, but it all gets repurposed into new builds!”
