The Value of Making: Why Hands-On Work Matters. Real-world activities can be an antidote to aspects of life that feel detached or isolating, and our workshops offer a human-centred way to turn waste materials into a shared source of learning and pride for our staff, our volunteers, and our customers. We also look at Solo Wood Recycling, which worked with Opportunity Kensington this July to help transform the gardens at St Mary Abbots School into a thriving habitat for pollinators as part of the 'Pollinator Pathmaker' initiative.

Waste to Watts: Inside the Plant at Steven’s Croft. Our Development Manager Elizabeth Green took part in a trip by the Wood Recyclers Association to E.On’s Steven’s Croft wood-fired energy plant near Lockerbie to learn about the valuable role being played by biomass energy in keeping wood waste out of landfill while generating renewable and reliable baseload power. We also look at The Useful Wood Company, Community Wood Recycling's Woking enterprise.
