Reclaimed wood stage at Firle Vintage Fair

A beautiful day at last Sunday’s Firle Vintage Fair, and a chance to see wood saved by Brighton & Hove Wood Recycling Project put to great use to make a stage!

The Firle Vintage Summer Fair in Firle Park is a two-day celebration of all things classic, with antique and vintage homeware stalls, French furniture, classic design clothes, European brocante, vintage jewellery, an artisan tearoom, a champagne bar, and a vintage car show.

It also features a line up of well-known vintage-style jazz bands and solo artists performing throughout the weekend in the music pavilion, and what’s jazz without swing? The music was accompanied by dances from performers including those from the I Charleston dance school, which runs beginner and intermediate courses in the energetic 20s step from their studio on Davidgor Road.

In keeping with the theme, the dance stage was made from open-web joists recovered from the Cross Stone Homes Parq Brighton development on Preston Road.

A great day out, and a great use for reclaimed timber!
