Working with wood can help put things into perspective
It’s mental health awareness week. Many of the people who volunteer and work in our network face challenges with their mental health, and find that being part of a team helping the environment by reusing waste wood allows them to build their confidence and feel less isolated. This week it’s important for us to say how much people with mental health challenges give back to the network; from collecting waste wood to creating products or serving customers, our thirty wood recycling enterprises wouldn’t have grown the way they have without the work of people with mental illnesses.
We are committed to repaying this contribution by developing new ways to support our colleagues with personalised help when they need it, and building a model that can be used by other organisations. We’re looking forward to sharing more news about this over the coming months.
