Founder Richard Mehmed speaks at German Wood Recyclers’ conference
Our founder and managing director Richard Mehmed spoke to the Bundesverband der Altholzaufbereiter und -verwerter e.V. (German Federal Association of Waste Wood Processors and Recyclers) about the Community Wood Recycling model and how our innovative approach allows us to reuse waste timber, helping the environment and society.
The German wood recycling industry processes about 6.5 million tonnes a year, about a third more than the UK, and supplies woodchip to more than 70 power stations, but Germany does not currently have a wood reuse sector. We hope to work with partners there and in the rest of Europe to explore the possibilities of bringing our model there.
