The Wood Shack Named Community Business of the Year at the 2025 Social Economy Awards

Congratulations to Community Wood Recycling member Jericho, who run our Birmingham based wood recyclers The Wood Shack, for being named Community Business of the Year at the 2025 Social Economy Awards.  This award recognises their work in breaking down complex barriers to employment and giving people a chance to make a meaningful difference.  The Wood Shack is one of seven social enterprise run by the charity to tackle the stubbornly high youth unemployment rate in the area and meet the needs of victims of modern slavery, providing supported work opportunities where people face extreme challenges in getting a job.
